ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has remarked “ Imran Khan is not Prime Minister (PM) as yet but he is going to form government therefore, he should become example for the people.
CJP gave these remarks while presiding over a 3-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) during the course of hearing of Banigala encroachment case here on Tuesday.
Survey General of Pakistan (SGP) and member Revenue Board appeared before the court.
CJP described the performance of SGP unsatisfactory remarking as to why the court’s orders were not taken seriously. We don’t come in the court to see the documents and take tea. People pay us salary out of their hard earned income. Surveyor general and revenue member together should complete the record till evening. No one is authorized to make any change in record. If some dues are outstanding against Imran Khan then he should also pay them.
Babar Awan took the plea that Prime Minister (PM) will become example for the people.
CJP observed “ he has not become PM yet. Now he is going to become PM. He should himself see this matter. If he sets example then people will follow him too.
Babar Awan said he assures on behalf of PM that he will review this matter.
CJP remarked no Patwari has any authority to make any change in the record without any justification. In the event of any error, Patwari should rectify the record. We give time on certain issues as the new government has yet to come.
SC while accepting plea of Survey of Pakistan to give time for six weeks adjourned the hearing of the case.
