Islamabad: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan instead of August 11 will now take oath of office as Prime Minister of Pakistan on August 14.
According to details Election Commission (EC) has made it clear that on August 11 oath taking ceremony will not be possible as the period given for filing of election expenditures by the candidates will expire on August 4. It will take 2 days to issue notifications of successful aspirants. Following this three days will be given to the independent candidates to join any party, For 2 days EC will decide about the minorities and women special seats and this process will be completed by August 9. After this the process of oath taking ceremony of the National Assembly, Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be completed. Despite the completion of all formalities the newly elected National Assembly could not take oath before August 12. Hence now PTI Chairman Imran Khan will take the oath of office as Prime Minister of Pakistan on August 14.
