Islamabad: (Parliament Times) National University of Sciences &Technology (NUST) Wednesday reached an agreement with Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA) for the promotion of multi-disciplinary research, enhancement of University-Industry linkages, products and processes development, consultancy services, faculty and student placement. The agreement was soleminsed at NUST H-12 Campus through a Memorandum of Understanding, signed by Dr. Nassar Ikram, Pro-Rector Research Innovation & Commercialisation-NUST and Mr Zafar Mahmood, Senior Vice Chairman of PCMA. Highlighting the importance of University-Industry collaboration, Lt. Gen. Naweed Zaman HI(M), (Retd.), Rector NUST, emphasised the growing need of building strong linkages with tangible outcomes to society. He appreciated PCMA for playing its role in developing its linkage with NUST and sharing various industry projects and challenges for NUST researchers to undertake. PCMA delegation also visited School of Chemical & Material Engineering (SCME) and School of Natural Sciences (SNS) to see the laboratories which could be utilised by members of PCMA as well as to meet the active research teams working in these laboratories on various industry-related projects.
