NEW YORK: The UN Secretary-General António Guterres has congratulated people of Pakistan on completion of general election saying he is looking forward to formation of new government.
Stephane Dujarric spokesman for UN Secretary General said in a statement issued here that people of Pakistan reiterated their commitment for a democratic Pakistan by exercising their right to vote. We congratulate people of Pakistan on successful elections.
It was further said in the statement that UN Secretary General has appreciated election commission for holding elections, the steps taken for training of women, inclusion of women and inclusion of special persons in electoral process for the first time.
UN looks forward to formation of a new government in Pakistan and wishes it success in providing people of Pakistan a stable, democratic and prosperous future, he added.
