ISLAMABAD: Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has accepted the plea in respect of exemption from their attendance by defence secretary and DG ISI in the court in the matter of reopening of Aabpara chowk.

A miscellaneous petition from ministry of defence and DG ISI came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Shuakat Aziz Siddiqui in illegal Faizabad bus terminal case on Tuesday.

The court was prayed through this petition to review its June, 22 and June 28 decisions.

Representative of ministry of defence and Deputy Attorney General (DAG) appeared before the court when hearing regarding miscellaneous petition in Faizabad illegal bus terminal case started.
DAG requested for giving more time in connection with alternative security arrangements besides setting aside June, 22 and 29 decisions.

The learned judge while rejecting the pleas of defence secretary and DG ISI seeking nullification of June, 22 and June 29 decisions remarked “we are not fond of summoning. This was said that we have no powers. Therefore, those having powers were summoned.

Representative of ministry of defence and DAG appeared before the court and requested the court to give time for making alternative arrangements.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked “alternative security arrangements mean what. Nothing is substitute. Make arrangements for security within your limits.

The learned judge remarked “ we give the time for four weeks. Open the road, remove the encroachments and file report thereof in the court. The representative of defence ministry and DAG should sign the written orders of today’s court proceedings.

The court disposed of the miscellaneous petition.
