Singapore: As the global number of IoT devices is forecast to rise from 27 billion to 73 billion in 2025[1], the understanding of how IoT is adopted is significant. And as with previous waves of technological and industrial advancement, there is interest in how IoT can be applied for consumer and commercial and government purposes.

IoT is remarkable for its potential in fulfilling benefits universally, and businesses and governments are pursuing application of IoT devices, in ways that will be accepted by people. Smart wearables is an obvious segment due to its ubiquity and market research values the global wearable tech market at US$160bn by 2025[2].

The necessary innovation to develop wearables in an increasingly competitive space requires investment in time, money and expertise. To help companies get a head start, Singapore-based KaHa provides proprietary, customizable, end-to-end global smart wearable IoT solutions, and is behind the most advanced wearables around the world.

Today KaHa is participating in ConnecTechAsia 2018 and the new NXTAsia trade show which focuses in digital enterprise solutions and technology. KaHa is introducing a range of smart apparels with body- and wellness-monitoring features including maximum heart rate monitoring and notification, electrocardiography (ECG or EKG), RR-intervals (the period between successive heartbeats), and VO2 Max (maximal aerobic capacity).

The smart apparel range includes military uniform, children wear, sportswear (compression and sports bra) and casual wear. These are printed with Flexible Hybrid Electronics which captures and shares the body vitals with KaHa’s proprietary COVE IoT platform. COVE utilizes inbuilt Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms to provide actionable suggestions for the user, creating a positive feedback loop and opening up opportunities in preventive healthcare, sports and wellness, and work condition optimization.

Pawan Gandhi, founder and CEO of KaHa says, “ConnecTechAsia is the premier industry platform for digital and technology solutions in Asia and we are pleased to showcase our new range of smart apparel with our wearable tech capable of monitoring body vitals non-intrusively. We started with a smart t-shirt and have received inquiries from apparel manufacturers and brands from Asia and Europe. Today we are demonstrating the successful application of our smart tech onto other apparels from military uniform to children wear. This is a great boost for the smart wearable and IoT ecosystem and is promising for consumers, the apparel & garment industry and any company keen in riding the IoT technology wave.”
