ISLAMABAD: Raja Khurram former judge of Islamabad district court who was convicted in Tayyaba torture case has challenged High Court (HC) decision in Supreme Court (SC).
The petition was filed through Azam Tarar advocate in SC on Monday.

The petitioner has taken the plea in the petition that trial court awarded punishment of one year in jail and fined Rs 50000. High Court enhanced the sentence to 3 years. The court did not see that there was neither the signatures nor the thumb impression found on Tayyaba petition. The respective court ignored the statement of Tayyaba. The court also did not review the timing of disappearance of Tayyaba correctly. The right to article 1O-A was also not given in the case.

The petitioner has prayed the SC to accept his appeal and set aside t Islamabad High Court (IHC) decision.
