MIRPUR (AJK): The position of water level in the country’s biggest AJK-based Mangla Dam reservoir was reported as at decline as the level of the water in the dam was reported 1104.05 feet on Sunday.
Minimum operating level of water in Mangla dam is 1050 feet with the maximum conservation level 1242 feet. Live storage capacity in the dam on Sunday was reported as 0.402 MAF, the official sources told this correspondent here on Sunday. Meanwhile, the over position of the river inflows and outflows at Mangla, Tarbela and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages remained on Sunday as under:-
Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 166600 cusecs and Outflows 99500 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 91700 cusecs and Outflows 91700 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 45200 cusecs and Outflows 20000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 74900 cusecs and Outflows 53300 cusecs.
Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 185100 cusecs and Outflows 180100 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 182600 cusecs and Outflows 143000 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 111800 cusecs and Outflows 102900 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 3300 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs Guddu: Inflows 58100 cusecs and Outflows 48600 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 38900 cusecs and Outflows 13500, Kotri: Inflows 6600 cusecs and Outflows Nil.
Reservoirs (Level and Storage):
Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1386 feet, present level 1435.94 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage today 0.938 million acre feet (MAF).
Mangla: Minimum operating level 1050 feet, present level 1104.05 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 0.402 MAF.
Chashma: Minimum operating level 638.15 feet, present level 644.30 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.107 MAF.
The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m.
