MIRPUR (AJK):(Parliament Times) Azad Jammu Kashmir government has principally decided to set up special Ramzan Bazars in various parts of the all ten AJK districts in order to ensure the required supply of edibles to the general consumers at subsidized rates during the Holy month of Ramzan, official sources said.
“Quality items of daily use including those of edible would be made available at the Ramzan Bazar at inexpensive rates as compared to the general market”, a senior AJK government administrative officer told APP here on Monday.
Venders at Ramzan bazars will be bound to display the rate lists of the commodities, determined by the authorities, at a visible place at their sale points from 8.30 in the morning, he said
In Mirpur the Ramzan Bazar would be set up outside premises of Mirpur Cricket stadium for the facility of large number of the general consumers during the holy month, official sources said quoting a meeting held here on Monday with Deputy Commissioner Sardar Adnan Khursheed in the chair.
Frequent surprise checking of the prices of the commodities of daily use – to be displayed at the conspicuous places at all the shops in Ramzan Bazars as well as in other shopping centers of the district will be conducted, the meeting decided.
It was told in the meeting that in the light of the directives of the AJK government all the AJK district administrations including Mirpur administration have taken stringent measures to discourage profiteering, hoarding and artificial scarcity of edible items during and after the Holy month of Ramzan.
The sources said that those involved in such unlawful exercise will be taken to task. The sanctity of this Holy month will be maintained in all circumstances.The official sources revealed that edibles including mutton, beef, chicken, sugar, vegetables, fruit, flour, rice, pulses and other items will be available at highly subsidized rates at Ramzan bazaars as compared to the open marker, fixed by the administration.
