Chitral: In Chitral and Dir Bala KPK a shutter down strike continues of the chemists against the new proposed legislation.
The owners of the Medical Stores of the area have begun shutter down strike from May 7 against the proposed amendments into the Drug Act 1976 in which it is obligatory on owners to obtain the certificate of the category B.
In Chitral the political and social society members including district Nazim Maghfrat Shah visited the chemists camp in front of press club. They demanded from the government to meet their demands.
The President of Pakistan Chemists and Drugists Association Chitral Imran Hussain has said that they are not against the amendments in this law but are against the clause which makes it obligatory on the owners of the drug stores that they should offer category B licence for the renewal of their licences.
Former MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali has demanded of the government to revoke this disputed law.
He was addressing a press conference outside the press club. He said due to the strike people are facing a lot of problems. He said if any death occured for want of medicines the government is fully responsible. Chemists have held demonstrations at various places.
