“AJK president, PM condole demise of Mrs. Safi”
Islamabad: The wife of Ghulam Muhammad Safi, the Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, passed away in Islamabad, today.
She breathed her last at a hospital in Islamabad after protracted illness. A large number of people hailing from both sides of the line of control participated in her funeral prayers, held at Jamia Masjid, Block C, Police Foundation in Islamabad. Besides the members of Kashmiri community settled in twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad the funeral prayers for the deceased soul were attended by former AJK president Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, former premier Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, JI leaders, UJC chairman Syed Sallahudin, APHC leaders including Syed Faiz Naqashbandi, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Sheikh Tajamulul Islam, Altaf Hussain Wani, Syed Yousuf Naseem and several others. Later on she was laid to eternal rest at a graveyard near Police Foundation colony in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan and former APHC convener and vice president of Democratic Freedom Party Mehmood Ahmed Saghar expressed deep sense of shock over the sad demise of GM Safi’s wife and extended their heartfelt condolences o the bereaved family. The Prime Minister commiserated with the bereaved family and the people of Kashmir and prayed for the departed soul. According to a condolence statement issued from London, Prime Minister also condoled with member of Public Service Commission, Shaheen Ashai on departure of her husband.
Meanwhile, the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan visited the residence of APHC convener to offer condolences with the bereaved family.
