Islamabad: Commencing of flight operation from New International Islamabad Airport(NIIA) will now take place on 3rd May .
The decision of postponement of making new airport operational was taken during the visit of Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan to new airport on Wednesday.
Though he expressed his satisfaction on overall preparedness for inauguration of new airport but he also asked Civil Aviation Authority(CAA)that state of the art systems and equipment should be tested and trialed for some more period to bring it to the level of international standards.
For that matter he gave directions to concerned authorities and particularly to CAA to carry out more tests and trials in order to improve reliability and efficiency of systems.
