VIRGINIA: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry has urged the need for increasing people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and the United States for promotion of bilateral ties between the two countries.

Addressing the inaugural oath taking ceremony of the newly formed Pakistani American Press Association in Virginia, he said Pakistani Americans could help bridge the gap in Pakistan-US ties, and help strengthen and make vibrant the bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, Deputy Assistant to the US President on South and Central Asia, Lisa Curtis has underlined the need for cooperation between Pakistan and the United States, saying the two have lot to gain by working together.

She made these remarks while speaking as guest of honour at a ceremony to mark the 78th Pakistan Day at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington.

She congratulated the people of Pakistan as well as Pakistani Americans on the National Day.
