Obaro: In Obaro Tehsil of Ghotki, Sindh a man has tried to marry off his 10 year old daughter with a 30 year man in lieu of loan.
According to police the incident occurred in the village of Hussain Bhutto. Ata Mohammad Bhutto has taken loan of Rs 10000 from an influential person Allah Jeruo on interest which multiplied to the extent of Rs 150000 . Due to nonpayment of loan Ata Mohammad gave his 10 year old girl in marriage to the son of Allah Jeruo. However at the time of departure girl cried and the neighbours reported to police.
SHO Imam Din Chandio said that the girl has been taken into custody and she will be presented in the court.
It is pertinent to mention that such marriages are common in Sindh and police take action on such occasions.
