Muzaffarabad: Pakistan People’s Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PPP AJK) has announced to celebrate Women day in the State with full zest and zeal.
President PPP AJK Chaudhary Latif Akbar while addressing a press conference here on Friday has said that PPP AJK will organize rallies and seminars throughout the State on 8th March (International Women’s Day).
He said that Women are 52% of our total population and PPP always raised the voice for rights of Women, ‘‘Our party have the honour that first woman Prime Minister of Islamic State, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was the head of our party’’ he maintained.
He reiterated that we have equal opportunity for females in our region and ratio of educated women in our State is more than Men which is also a good gesture in the society.‘‘If any of our female party worker applies for the ticket to compete in upcoming municipal elections, we will give priority to females’’ he added.
Ch. Latif Akbar also lamented that unfortunately, there have been no any female member in Kashmir Council since its establishment, but if this council remains then we will definitely give chance to our female representative for Kashmir Council representation.
He added that Pakistan People’s Party will also give representation to females in legislative assembly and 30 % representation will be given to females in local body elections.
Pakistan People’s Party has announced country wide to celebrate International Women Day on the directions of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and all party leaders and representatives are nowadays engaged in arrangement of activities for this day.
