Mirpur: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (PM AJK) Raja Mohammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that there is only one house of legislation in AJK (AJK legislative Assembly), Kashmir Council is the executive body whose chairman is Prime Minister Pakistan.
The AJK PM expressed these views while talking to media men here on Saturday. Prime Minister visited the Kashmir Press Club and extended his heartfelt felicitation to the newly elected officer bearers. Speaking briefly on the occasion he said, “Incumbent Government is working diligently to seek amendments in the AJK interim constitution Act 1974 so that the Legislative Assembly as well as elected representatives could be empowered”. He was of the view that some people do not understand or they are unaware of the Council’s authority.
“Those who consider themselves as the heirs and successors of the State, I want to tell them that services rendered by other people are in no way less than theirs”.
Prime Minister made it clear that AJK was not going to become a province but we want to strengthen our relations with Pakistan.
