Geneva: Kashmari delegation led by rights activist Altaf Hussain Wani on Thursday thanked OIC Secretary General Yousaf A. Al Othaimeen for raising human rights situation of Indian occupied Kashmir at an extra-ordinary session of the UNHCR session in Geneva.
Pertinently, the OIC Secretary General Mr. Othaimeen in his speech denounced in clear and categorical terms the human rights violations by Indian forces in Indian occupied Kashmir. He urged the council to take steps to stop human suffering in Kashmir to pave a way for peaceful resolution of the lingering dispute. He said like all other nations Kashmiri have right to decide their political future through self determination.
After his address Kashmiri delegation comprising of Altaf Hussain Wani and Syed Faiz Naqashbandi thanked Secretary General for his statement and unflinching support to Kashmiris right to self determination. Delegation presented him latest report on the human rights situation in Indian held territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
