ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned till March 05 hearing of appeal plea filed by FIA against the acquittal of CEO Shoaib Sheikh and other accused in Axact fake degree case.

A two member bench of IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb took up FIA appeal plea for hearing on Thursday.

Shoaib Sheikh appeared in the court along with his counsels Raja Rizwan Abbasi and Sohail Akhtar. Babar Awan appeared on behalf of other accused persons of Axact.

During the hearing of the case Raja Rizwan Abbasi counsel for Shoaib Sheikh raised the objection that appointing Ishfaq Naqvi as special prosecutor by FIA is violation of Supreme Court (SC) orders.

Justice Athar Minallah remarked this is appeal against the acquittal of the accused persons. We will first hear appellant . What is this direction. SC has given one month time.

Babar Awan advocate said “ the one month period will start from today.

Raja Rizwan Abbasi argued the case is fixed for hearing in Sindh High Court from next week.

The court remarked this court will not delay this matter.

Raja Rizwan Ab basi counsel for Shoaib Sheikh requested the court to adjourn the hearing till March 05.

The court remarked “ we are adjourning the hearing by accepting your plea. The hearing of this case will be conducted on day to day basis from March 05.
