ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) while disposing of suo motu notice regarding murder of Asma a four years girl from Mardan has ordered police to file challan in respect of the accused within 10 days.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took up for hearing suo motu notice case of Asma murder on Wednesday.

The CJP during the course of hearing of the case inquired from Deputy Advocate General (DAG) KP “ has the accused been arrested. Challan will be filed when.

DAG KP informed that name of accused is Ghulam Nabi who has been arrested and he is in judicial custody.

The court while ordering for filing challan of the case within 10 days disposed of the case.

The body of Asma, 4 resident of Gujjar Garhi Mardan was found in the fields close to her home on January 15. The postmortem report confirmed that she was killed after having been raped. CJP Mian Saqib Nisar had taken suo motu notice of the murder of the minor girl.
