Rawalpindi: Secretary, department of Livestock and Dairy Development Punjab province, Nasim Sadiq has urged the need to complete animals census work.
Addressing a meeting held here with officers of Livestock and dairy development department, he said that the campaign is aimed at collecting data so that the exact number of animals in the Punjab for treatment of diseases and arranging fodder and other requirements for the animals in order to prepare best plans for future.
Nasim Sadiq termed livestock as national wealth, saying these fulfill protein and other requirements in the form of meat and eggs. He said that following the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz, several projects have been started for promotion of livestock, adding census of animals was amongst the projects.
He informed that officials and staffers of department of livestock are visiting home to home to count small and each and every animal. He said after this a detailed report of all small and big animals would be prepared. He said in the light of this report, projects for future for development of livestock sector would be prepared. On this occasion, he also reviewed progress on animals distribution among the deserving widows and instructed to complete all projects without delay.
