Islamabad: Significant headway was made in the restoration of MMA as a consensus developed on final manifesto and Central Council.
Sources said that an announcement in this regard will be made in parliamentary board and other committees this month, whereas electoral campaign will start in March.
The creditable sources said that consultations amongst the religious parties were going on this matter for past few months.
The central council included Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Sirajul Haq, Sajjad Naqvi, Pir Ijaz Hashmi, Sajjad Mir, Owais Noorani, Ramazan Tauqir and Maulana Amjad. In addition to this the heads of every political party and three members each from the party will be elected.
The central council was presented in at a meeting in Karachi and approved at a Lahore meeting. And now the committee will meet for central council members on February 15 in Islamabad and the tenure of central members will be for two years.
JUI and JI have chalked out a strategy to part ways with the governments and an announcement to this effect will be made immediately after the Senate elections.
