Islamabad: Accountability Court (AC) of Islamabad has adjourned the hearing of assets reference against former finance minister Ishaq Dar till January 2nd.
AC judge Muhammad Bashir took up the case for hearing on Thursday.
During the course of hearing, NAB prosecutor told the court that Islamabad High Court (IHC) had issued stay order in Dar’s case.
Judge Muhammad Bashir asked NAB prosecutor that “ has he received any copy of court orders.
Prosecutor Imran Shafique said he had filed an application in IHC for obtaining copy of orders but still he didn’t get it besides praying that if Accountability court gives any date after holidays then he will file orders in the court.
Judge further remarked, “What is the next ‘hearing date in IHC?
Prosecutor replied that IHC granted stay order till January 17.
Judge asked, ‘Has anybody come from Dar’s side?
NAB prosecutor said no one came from Dar’s side.
On it judge remarked, Dar too wished so. Now the honesty of Dar would also become known that either he comes back in the country during this time period or not.
The court has adjourned the hearing till January 2nd.
It is vital to mention here NAB had filed a reference against Ishaq Dar for accumulating assets beyond his known source of income in the light of Supreme Court (SC) panama case verdict on July 28. AC had indicted Dar on September 27 in the same reference while Dar pleaded not guilty.
Also AC declared Dar a proclaimed offender on his continuous non-appearance before court while he had appeared before AC seven times.
