Faisalabad: Several disgruntled leaders of PML-N have submitted their resignations to custodian of Dargah Sial Sharif, Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi on Sunday.

According to media reports, the move came during the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (PBUH) Conference of Sunni Ittehad Council in Faisalabad’s Dhobi Ghaat Ground led by Sialvi who announced his dissociation from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz a few days earlier.At least two Members of Nationa Assembly (MNAs), three Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs), local government representatives and party officials tendered their resignation in the conference. Scholars and advisors from across the country are attending the conference.

Sialvi has also reiterated demand for a resignation by the Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah over his stance on the finality of Prophethood (PBUH).While addressing the conference, Pir Hamid-ud-Din Sialvi stressed that Pakistan was made in the name of Islam and the law of this religion will be implemented in this country. In the conference, it was announced that next procession will be held in Lahore over Rana Sanaullah s reluctance to resign.

Earlier, five PML-N lawmakers announced their resignations from public office during a Khatm-i-Nabuwwat conference.
MNAs Dr Nisar Ahmad Jutt and Ghulam Bibi Bharwana; Punjab MPAs Maulana Rehmatullah, Nizam-ud-Din Sialvi — Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi’s son and Khan Muhammad Baloch announced their resignations protesting government inaction against their demand for the resignation of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. The lawmakers belong to Punjab’s Jhang, Chiniot, Faisalabad and Sargodha districts.
