RAWALPINDI: (Parliament Times) Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to declare illegal 31 housing societies falling in its jurisdiction besides launching legal action against them.
RDA sources said about 76 housing societies are operating in the jurisdiction of RDA and 45 housing societies including two new housing societies are abiding by the rules and regulations of RDA. These housing societies have been issued No Objection Certificate (NOC) by RDA. As many as 31 housing societies are functioning illegally which don’t come upto the legal criterion set by RDA in any way. Neither any NOC has been issued by RDC to them.
According to RDA sources the illegal housing societies are Jinnah Town (Adiala), Air Port Employees Cooperative Housing Society (Kot Jabbi), Janjua Town-1, 2, 3 (Kalial), Khiaban-e-Millat (Adiala), National Town (Jatal), Khiaban-e- Qaid (Adiala), T and T housing society (Morgah), OGDC Town , Hamza town (Kalial), Sanghar town (Gangal), Gulshan-e-Iqbal (Mohri Ghazan), Fazal town phase-11 Chaklala, Gulberg town (vehigal), Lake vesta residential Rawal City (Dhok Abdullah), Palm City (Kot Jabbi), Jabbar City ( Chaklala). Usman Block (Kot Jabbi), Jobli town (Kalial), Lawyers town (Kot Jabbi, Chaklala), Radio Colony (Kalri), Federation of Employees Cooperative Housing Society (Lohi Bher), Sanmar Zar housing project (Kalial), Gulrez Housing Scheme (Kotha Kallan) Metro Homes (Kalial), Babar Homes (Kalri), Paris villas (Kalial) and Alfalah homes (Kalial).
RDA spokesperson Hafiz Irfan said that RDA persistently takes action against illegal housing societies. Notices were issued to them on several occasions earlier. However RDA has now decided to initiate action at large scale against them due to heedlessness of the owners of these societies. All such societies will be sealed and cases will be registered against the owners of these societies.
He appealed to citizens to verify the particulars of all such societies before making any investment therein.
