Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad has been going on successfully all across the country; however, its impact is largely seen in Balochistan where army has conducted many intelligence-based operations against proscribed militant outfits involved in terrorist activists in the region. Pertinently, the military operation under the banner of Radd-ul-Fasaad was launched in February this year after witnessing an upsurge in terrorist attacks in the country. So far hundreds of militants have been killed and arrested during the countrywide military operations.
In Balochistan province over three hundred anti-state elements have been apprehended whereas 1,500 plus militants belonging to different banned Baloch militant organisations surrendered themselves to authorities. Moreover, a huge amount of arms and ammunition have been recovered from banned organisation over the past several months, which speaks volumes about the overall success and achievements of the operation.
On Sunday, as many as 11 terrorists of a banned militant outfit have been apprehended during search operations in various parts of Balochistan. According to ISPR, the military’s media wing, the militants belonging to Baloch Republican Army (BRA) were held during intelligence-based operations carried out by Balochistan Frontier Corps, Levies force and intelligence agencies in Sanni Shoran area south of Sibbi. In a separate raid, security forces claimed to have recovered four improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from Qila Saifullah which were later defused.
After Zarb-e-Azb operation, which proved highly instrumental in wiping out hotbeds of militants in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) bordering Afghanistan, the operation Radd-ul-Fasaad will be another success story of Pakistan army’s resilience and persistence to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country. During the years long battle Pakistan army and other law enforcement agencies paid huge sacrifices to defend the motherland to ensure peace, progress and prosperity in the country. We all owe a debt of gratitude to armed forces, policemen and members of law enforcement agencies who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The successive anti-terror operations have undoubtedly paved the way for a promising future besides restoring the confidence of a nation but given the external threats there is a dire need that the security establishment should widen the security overview in the region particularly in the areas bordering to Afghanistan where terrorist groups being aided and abetted by foreign agencies are used to foment trouble in Pakistan.
