Funeral prayers for the 15 people massacred in Turbat were offered after which their bodies were dispatched to Lahore.Funeral prayers for the victims, whose bullet-riddled bodies were discovered a day earlier by Levies officials were offered in the presence of senior military and civil leadership. Turbat Assistant Commissioner Dr Jamil Baloch told media that the bodies of the deceased were kept in the hospital after their post-mortem was conducted.The funeral prayers of the deceased were held in Turbat and attended by the chief minister, as well as other senior civil and military officials.The bodies are being sent to the respective areas in Punjab where the deceased hailed from.The identities of four out of the 15 deceased were not ascertained till this report was filed.
However, photos of the unidentified bodies have been sent to the relevant authorities in Punjab. The Levies officials found the bodies in the mountainous area of Turbat in Balochistan. According to reports, the deceased were people who were trying to illegally cross the border into Iran to enter Europe.As per reports, the victims arrived in Turbat through human smuggling agents who had promised them entrance into Europe for employment. In Punjab, Chief Minister Shehbaz has constituted an 11-member committee to make arrangements for the bodies to be sent to their native areas when they arrive in the province from Balochistan, said the provincial government spokesperson.The committee was headed by Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood, he added.The 11-members committee will also make recommendations to avoid such incidents from taking palace in future.Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced financial aid for the heirs of those killed in Turbat.The Punjab government will provide one million rupees per head to the heirs of the those killed there.Meanwhile, the chief minister said that the elements that killed the innocent people deserve no leniency and vowed that the those involved in human-trafficking would be taken to task.He said that Punjab police would eliminate such fake travel agents in partnership with the FIA and both Punjab and federal governments would collectively curb this menace.
He said that killing of 15 people was a tragic incident and the more it was condemned the less it would be. Shehbaz Sharif said that all our sympathies were with the heirs and he fully shares the grief of the bereaved families and added that he had been deeply saddened over this tragic incident.
He prayed that may Allah Almighty grant courage and strength to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude. Despite marked improvement in law and order situation in the province but it seems that there is no relief for Quetta as this city is constantly facing deadliest incidents. The provincial government needs to take preventive measures and increased security. The coordination among federal and provincial must be improved to avoid such untoward incidents in future.
