Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said the biggest hurdle impeding the development of the country is corruption and elimination of fair accountability system.
Shehbaz Sharif was talking to media after visiting Iqbal’s mausoleum on his 140th birth anniversary.
He laid a floral wreath on Iqbal’s mausoleum and offered Fateha. The CM also recorded his impression in the Visitors Book.
While talking to media, he said that “We have to review what steps have been taken to stop corruption till now,” he said.
Punjab CM maintained that corruption worth billion of rupees has been done in the country and everyone knows who is behind it.
He said that Iqbal’s poetry and ideas also serve as a guidance in the present era. “It is still questionable today how much have we followed Iqbal’s sayings.
We are plunging even today despite existence of Iqbal’s thoughts and ideas,” said the CM.
