Islamabad : Non disbursement of salaries to daily wages staff of educational institutions operating under Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) since the last four months has put their families at the brink of starvation.
According to media reports approximately 2300 teaching and non-teaching staff was in severe financial fix for not receiving the salaries since the last four months. The daily wages staffers were appointed as time gap arrangement.
“The students fund system has been abolished in 2011 and all the daily wages employees of FDE are being paid salaries directly by the Auditor General of Pakistan Revenue (AGPR)”, sources added.
Sources said that government could not make new recruitment due to not settlement of cases of daily wages employees. The government educational institutions were facing severe shortage of staff owing to lack of fresh appointments.
It is worth-mentioning here that although government has regularized almost 11000 employees working in various departments in the light of recommendation of cabinet committee but the Ministry of CADD due to internal conflict could not allow such regular employees to file their joining report who had completed the formality of their medical test.
The teachers have demanded of the Prime Minister to take notice of it and issue directions to authorities concerned for immediate payment of their salaries besides regularizing their service.
