ICA & WFP organize a workshop in Muzaffarabad

Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Secretary Agriculture and Livestock Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Shehla Waqar chaired a workshop held under the auspices of Integrated Context Analysis (ICA) and United Nations World Food Program here in Kashmir Plan House on Thursday.

Secretary Forests Syed Zahoor ul Hassan Gillani, Secretary State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) Zaheer ud din Qureshi, Director General Climate change and others attended the workshop. Participants of workshop were briefed on the problems aroused due to climate change and natural hazards, its vulnerability to food.

Suggestions were also recorded to overcome issues and representatives of different departments were informed about strategy making in the district affected due to floods, drought, earthquake and land sliding on the basis of data gathered by ICA and WFP.

Speaking on the occasion, Shehla Waqar said that this report will also facilitate the incumbent government for further policy making to come across natural disasters and their impacts on Food. In an attempt to admire ICA and WFP for disseminating their report, Mrs. Waqar said, “we are grateful to ICA and WFP; Planning and development department will design further plans in review of this report.”
