Islamabad: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court (SC) requesting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to take suo motto notice on child birth incidents on roads in Punjab and youth death due to strike in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
A head of non-government organization (NGO) , Aah Nasir Mehmood filed a petition in the SC on Thursday while taking the plea that more than 6,000 patients are being affected from strike in PIMS for the last several days while one youth had died during strike due to lack of medical treatment.
He stated that more than 4,000 patients were waiting for their operations besides poor patients coming from Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit, Attock, Hazara and Jhelum are forced to undergo treatment in private clinics under these doctors at higher fees. .
It was further said that in Punjab several women have been forced to give birth on roads due to alleged negligence of doctors.
The petitioner while praying the court to take suo motto notices of the incidents stated that court should seek reply from federal and provincial governments.
