Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Lambasting the ruling elite’s alienation and apathy towards public issues, the JI chief senator Siraj-ul-Haq has said that the successive rulers have miserably failed to provide the provision of health-care, education, safe drinking water and other basic amenities to the common masses.

The JI chief made these assertions while addressing inaugural ceremony of Razi Hospital being built in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation and CBR Housing Society in Islamabad. President Alkhidmat Foundation Punjab, Prof. Sheikh Athar, Tufail Altaf Bhat president CBR Society, Zubari Farooq Khan, Dr. Waleed Rasool, Ishtiaq Bhat , Dr. Hafeez and others were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion senator Siraj-ul-Haq said that rulers didn’t pay any attention towards the education because their own children seek education from abroad. “The government-run education institutions are at the brink of disaster, education is no longer a priority of the rulers, they just come here to rule, they have established their businesses and bank balances out side Pakistan”, Haq said adding that they (rulers) even fly abroad to seek medical treatment. He said that the incumbent government neither respects the judiciary nor accepts the supremacy of the rule of law. “Instead of education rulers have earned the name and fame in corruption”, he maintained.

Expressing dismay over the government’s Kashmir policy, the JI chief said, “The freedom of Kashmir is no longer a priority of the incumbent rulers”. Referring to Indian atrocities in Indian held Kashmir he said that India was committing serious human rights violations in the disputed territory. “Our sisters, daughters and mothers in Kashmir are worst victim of Indian state terrorism”, the JI chief said adding that he would raise voice in favour of Kashmiri brethren at all available forums.
