Peshawar : By-election in the constituency NA-4 Peshawar will be held today on Thursday.
This seat had fallen vacant after death of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf member national assembly Gulzar Khan.
During 2013 general elections Gulzar Khan had attained total 55,000 votes against PML-N Nasir Khan Mosa Zai who was defeated by 35,000 votes.
All the equipment has been delivered to polling staff. Election would be held under army supervision.
Election contest is likely to be held between six political parties including PTI, PML-N, Pakistan People’s Party, ANP and Jamaat e Islami candidates.
Total number of registered voters is 3, 52,445 and 269 polling stations have been set up in the constituency out of them 181 have been declared highly sensitive while 88 declared sensitive.
On the other hand, provincial government Peshawar has announced holiday on the occasion of by- elections in NA-4 and formal notification to this effect would be issued later.
