ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ordered SSP Islamabad to arrest PTI Chairman Imran Khan and present before the commission on September 25.
In a letter dispatched to SSP Islamabad, Additional Director General of ECP Malik Mujtaba Ahmad passed the orders about Imran Khan for not appearing before the ECP despite several notices.
In a contempt case, the ECP had issued show cause notice and directed Imran Khan to appear before ECP on September 14 but he did not turn up for hearing.
The ECP further said that following the show cause notice if Imran Khan submitted guarantee of two persons and surety bonds of 0.1 million rupees and assured to appear before the ECP on September 25 then he should be set free.
It is worth mention here that ECP has taken action on the contempt petition of former leader of PTI Akbar S. Babar against Imran Khan on which ECP had ordered Imran Khan to appear in person on September 14. Accordingly Akbar S. Babar has also been advised to appear before ECP on September 25.
