Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has appreciated the National Assembly of Pakistan for adopting a comprehensive resolution on Kashmir saying that adoption of resolution at this very crucial juncture bears special significance for Kashmiri people who are fighting for their legitimate right the right to self-determination.
Prime Minister said this while talking to the media men at the Central Press Club here on Thursday. He was of the view that Kashmir movement was passing through a critical phase. He said that under the present circumstances the parliamentary resolution condemning Indian State terrorism in occupied Kashmir and reaffirming Pakistan’s continued diplomatic, political and moral support to Kashmiris for their struggle for right to self-determination was need of the hour. He said that Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control welcome this timely move. The PM said that 22 million people were at the back of this resolution and after the passing of this resolution a strong message had been conveyed by the Pakistani nation to people of Kashmir that they were not alone in their struggle.
The AJK PM condemned human rights violations by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir and said that oppressive measures adopted by Indian forces could not deter the people of Jammu and Kashmir from demanding their right of self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
“In order to protect Kashmir and national interests, political stability and national unity on the issues of national significance is a need of the hourâ€, he said adding that media in the country was free and that the importance of media was critical. However, he said that media should demonstrate responsibility. He said that Pakistan armed forces will never compromise on Kashmir. He said all the political parties had played very positive role by passing the resolution. He said political stability was needed in the country. “At this stage the country can not afford political instability as we have to compete with the international powers including the United Statesâ€, he said. He expressed the optimism that the national leadership will be united to face national challenges.
To a question Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that the results of census in Azad Kashmir were not officially announced. He said our government has taken steps to ensure the utilization of public funds with transparent way.
The PM on the occasion urged the international community to promptly assume its viable part in disposing of Indian brutality and boorishness as their silence over these atrocities was not justified in any way.
