Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The AJ&K Minister for Information, Tourism and Information Technology Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas, said that the Punjab government has given two projects worth Rs.1.5 billion to provide interest free loans for business and scholarships for the needy students.

Talking to journalists here on Monday the Information Minister said that notification has also been issued in this regard and the amount has been transferred to the AJ&K government. The information Minister thanked the Chief Minister Punjab for providing handsome amount for economic regeneration in AJ&K. “By spending this amount we will be in better position to fight poverty in the Azad Kashmir and also be able to provide employment and modern education in the AJ&K”, he added. “The government and the Kashmiri people are thankful to the Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif and Government of Punjab”, he said adding that both of these schemes will be available to youth for better education and business opportunity.
“The Punjab government has given a full amount of money by approving two important projects and the most important thing in this regard, is that these two projects will be on a regular basis.”, the minister said. He said that the provision of Rs.1.5 billion from Punjab is the result of the successful development policy and strategy of the Azad government. He said that former Prime Minister, Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif and the federal government of Muslim League-N has a special interest in the development of the AJ&K , for which the federal government has doubled the developmental budget as well as other funds in other heads. He said that the government was committed to making timely completion of all the development projects. He said all resources were being used to make Azad Kashmir a prosperous, developed and educated region. The information Minister said that a new era of prosperity in AJ&K has been started. He appreciated the efforts of the Chief Secretary Dr.Munir Ejaz and Additional Chief Secretary Syed Asif Shah for achieving these two schemes. He said that the role of Planning & Development department under the leadership of Additional Chief Secretary in Azad Kashmir was excellent. “Bringing new projects, speeding up the development process, and managing funds from the federal government and other financial institutions are big achievements of our government”, he maintained.
