Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The AJ&K Cabinet on Thursday appreciated Muhammad Nawaz Sharif the former Prime Minister of Pakistan for his unprecedented services for the nation and the country.

The Cabinet meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan adopted a number of resolutions wherein the cabinet members hailed the former prime minister’s role in highlighting the Kashmir Issue on international fora, approving record double development budget for AJK and including AJK in CPEC projects.

The cabinet welcomed the recent visit of Army Chief to Smahni, Kotli, Haji Pir and Chikothi sectors along the Line of Control saying that the visit would further boost the morale of the soldiers and the civilian population. “People of Azad Kashmir would stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan Army in defending the home land”, the resolution said.
The cabinet applauded the Pak Army on successful operation Radd Ul Fasad to eliminate the terrorism from country. The cabinet observed that stability of democracy and democratic institutions was vital for the prosperity of the country.

The cabinet appealed to all political parties of the Pakistan to tackle internal and external challenges by working jointly for the stability of the institutions and promotion of democracy in the country. The meeting congratulated the nation on observing the 70th Independence Day of Pakistan with full zeal and hoisting the national flags and the other hand observing the Indian Independence Day as black Day across the Jammu and Kashmir and overseas.
The Cabinet also condemned the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir including brutal killings of hundreds of innocent persons since July 2016, indiscriminate shooting and beatings causing injuries to over thousands civilians, human rights violations and blanket restrictions on freedom of expression, especially on print, electronic and social media.

“The use of inhumane pellet guns which blinded unarmed protestors including women and children is especially deplorable and is against the canons of international humanitarian laws”, they said. Lauding the sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir the participants of the meeting expressed complete solidarity with the valiant people of Indian Occupied Kashmir. The Cabinet reiterated its continued political, moral and diplomatic support for their just struggle. The cabinet deplored the detention of Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Geelani ,Mirwaiz Umar Farooq ,Yasin Malik, women leader Asiya Andrabi and others leaders.

The meeting called upon the international community to press India to stop all kinds of human rights violations and state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir besides repealing draconian laws prevalent in the region. The cabinet meeting also demanded India to release all political prisoners, including the Hurriyat Leadership, lift all restrictions on the media and stop intimidation and harassment of journalists, and implement UN Security Council Resolutions promising the right of self- determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The cabinet expressed disappointment and condemned the US President Trump’s statement he made during his speech on US policy on South Asia threatening Pakistan. “Pak Army and people of Pakistan have rendered matchless sacrifices during war on terror and these sacrifices must be acknowledged and regarded by the US”, maintained the cabinet.
The cabinet dismisses the US decision to designate Syed Salah uddin and Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist and violation of United Nations resolutions on Kashmir. “Hizbul Mujahideen is indigenous organization fighting for the freedom of occupied Kashmir”, they said.

The cabinet also condemned the filing of a reference against the prime minister to disqualify him, in the Legislative Assembly based on fake media story and termed it as an attempt of failed political elements who want to save their almost drowned politics.

“The Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan is true and patriotic political leader who and his family has a great struggle for the movement of accession to Pakistan”, read a resolution.

The meeting reposed its full confidence in leadership of the Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider and appreciated his political work and efforts to establish a good governance in the region by using all his team, skills and energies for the this purpose.

The cabinet congratulated the Pakistani nation on becoming of Pakistan a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
While addressing the meeting the prime minister expressed satisfaction over law and order situation in AJK and directed the Inspector General of Police to maintain this situation. The Prime Minister ordered to check and implement the traffic rules and also take steps to minimize traffic accidents. He said no under aged drivers should be given permission to drive on the roads.
The Prime Minister asked the department of Electricity to provide services to the people and cut short the lines and other losses. He said his government was talking serious steps to improve the governance and implement the rules and regulations so a common man could also enjoy the fruits of the better governance.
Earlier the Cabinet approved various new Acts and Ordinances during its meeting on Thursday. The cabinet approved “The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell Amendment Act 2017″ ,”The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Maternity Benefits Act 2017″, Amendment in AJ&K Civil Servants Act 1976”, “The Pro Hibition (Enforcement of Hudd)(Amendment) Ordinance 2017″,The Offences of Zina (enforcement of Hadood)(Amendment)Ordinance 2017,” The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Family Courts (Amendment)Ordinance 2017″ and Azad Jammu and Kashmir Shariat Court amendment Ordinance respectively.
