Muzaffarabad: Terming US terror tag on Hizb-ul-Mujahiedeen as unjustified and against the ground realities the AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that Hizb is purely an indigenous and home-grown organization, which was established to counter Indian state terrorism and human rights violations committed by Indian forces in the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued here on Friday the AJK PM while expressing his dismay over the contentious move said that the “un-justified decision” by the Trump administration had badly disappointed Kashmiri people who are engaged in a legitimate struggle against India’s illegal and forcible occupation. “How ironic is it that an oppressor (India) which is continuing it brutality and oppression in Kashmir for the past 70 years is not designated as a terrorist State but the people who raise their voices against the repression and continuous oppression are labeled as terrorists”, the PM said adding that the decision was taken to secure its business interests with Indian.

Khan said that the HM being an indigenous organization is operating within the confines of the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir. “This organization is limited within the territory of Kashmir which is a conflict zone”, the PM said adding that being a member of the UN Security Council the US was morally responsible for the implementation of resolutions adopted by the United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan (UNCIP). The US decision he said violates the UN ruling that guarantees the right to self determination to those states fighting against foreign occupations.

Raja Farooq Haider said that India had an anti-Muslim agenda as it had killed millions of Muslims. He said, “It becomes imperative not only for the people of Kashmir but for the Muslims across the world to strongly denounce and reject this recent statement by US State department regarding the Hizbul Mujahideen-an indigenous group of Kashmiris fighting the illegal Indian occupation”.

Terming Kashmiris as peace loving people the Prime Minister said that Kashmiri expect that people of US will oppose the move and raise their voice against this unfair decision of their leadership. Raja Farooq Haider Khan demanded that American government should review this decision. He also demanded that members of American congress and Human rights organizations should visit Indian occupied Kashmir to take stock of the situation in the region. He said Indian army and other agencies have endless powers to shoot, kill or arrest the innocent people under the black laws imposed by the Indian government in occupied Kashmir since 1992.
