ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has directed Health Ministry to formulate a comprehensive plan for expanding outreach of Prime Minister’s National Health Program (NHP) to all parts of the country.

He was chairing a meeting on issues related to Ministry of National Health Services in Islamabad on Friday.

He said the objective should be to facilitate drugs manufacturers and create a win-win situation for the consumers as well as the drugs producers and importers.

He said comprehensive proposals should be placed before the Cabinet and necessary legislation be put in place for addressing these issues.

Taking note of existing backlog in the registration and price fixation of various drugs, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry to present a roadmap within 24 hours with specified timelines for clearing the backlog.

Minister for National Health Services informed that the Government has undertaken major reforms especially in last two years in diverse areas.

Prime Minister directed that the regulatory mechanism regarding registration of drugs and pricing policy should be further simplified.

While talking to a delegation of PML-N Members of National Assembly from Dera Ghazi Khan in Islamabad on Friday, the Prime Minister said that PML-N government strongly believes in public service and is working whole-heartedly for addressing grievances of the people.

The MNAs briefed the Prime Minister regarding development schemes of their respective constituencies.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi advised the MNAs to work with full dedication for bringing about tangible positive change.

The Prime Minister stated that the government is focusing on development of Southern Punjab and will allocate maximum possible resources for development schemes.
