Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, a complete shutdown is being observed in Islamabad district, today, against the killing of three youth in fake encounter and an elderly man by Indian troops in Nowgam and Arwani areas of the district.
The youth identified as Muzaffar Hajam, Showkat Lohar and Naseer Ahmed were killed after police and army opened fire on their car at Watergam in Bulbul Nowgam on Monday night while an elderly man injured in army firing earlier in the day in Arwani area succumbed last night.
60-year-old Mohammad Abdullah Ganaie was a resident of Hussanpora village of Arwani.
A complete shutdown is being observed in Arwani, Bijbehara and Kokernag areas of the district. All business establishments are closed and traffic is of the road in the areas.
Meanwhile, the Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat forum, Zafar Akbar Butt, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Wajahat Bashir Qureshi and other Hurriyat leaders in their statements paid glowing tributes to the martyrs.
