RAWALPINDI: Citizens have voiced strong protest against raising entry fee two fold in respect of Race Course Public Park (RCPP) Rawalpindi cantt.
The citizens complained that 3 major public parks are free entry fee but the fee is being charged in the solitary public park of Rawalpindi cantt which has now been raised from Rs 10 to Rs 20. This 100 percent increase in fee has been made on the eve of Eid ul Fitr which has caused embarrassment among the low paid government and private sector employee as this public park is the only cheaper recreational and picnic choice for them and their families and enhancing entry fee is highly unjust for them.
A large number of citizens come to this park for having a walk as about 2 kilometre walking track is available therein.
The citizens have demanded of concerned authorities to declare the park entry fee free rather than increasing the fee two fold.
