Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan has said that he was not in favour of taking the issue of Kashmir to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) saying that the highest body [United Nations Security Council] has adopted a number of unanimous resolutions on Kashmir which were accepted and acknowledged by the governments of India and Pakistan.

The AJK president made these assertions while talking to PML-N youth delegation which called on him Wednesday night at Aiwan-e-Sadr Muzaffarabad. Terming Security Council as the biggest institution than the ICJ the AJK president said, “We should continue our demand for the implementation of the UNSC resolutions on Kashmir”. The president warned that it would be unwise to take Kashmir issue in the international court at this point of time. “Because the ICJ, under the Indian influence, can give a negative decision”, he said adding that in such a situation we must remain stick to our principled stance on the issue.

Appreciating the Kashmiri youths commitment and allegiance with the cause of Kashmir Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan said that the ongoing freedom movement in Indian held Kashmir was being spearheaded by young and educated youth of Kashmir. He said that following the martyrdom of Burhan Muzaffar Wani a sizable number of Kashmiri youth have joined the resistance movement against India.

Highlighting the significance of education, the AJK president urged the youth to pay special attention towards their education. “Do politics but don’t be ignorant of education”, he said adding that at this important stage of life those who remain ignorant and inattentive ultimately become a burden on the society.

He said that widespread recommendatory-culture prevalent in AJK was one of the biggest hurdles in the way of good-governance. He was of the view that those who talk high about merit and end to recommendatory-culture publicly were often seen seeking recommendations during their private [individual] meetings.
