Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, several students were injured when Indian police used brute force on protesting students in Pulwama town, today.
Students of Government Degree College and Higher Secondary School in Pulwama took to the streets and staged forceful demonstrations against the brutalities of Indian police and troops on the student community and common people across the territory. They demanded release of all illegally detained students arrested during the ongoing students’ agitation.
Indian police resorted to brute force and fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesting students, triggering clashes between the protesters and the police personnel. Many demonstrators were injured in the brutal action of the police. Clashes were going on till reports last came in.
Meanwhile, at least sixteen Indian paramilitary and police personnel were critically injured in different attacks in Tral, Islamabad, Pulwama and Sopore areas. The attackers took away self-loading rifles of the policemen from the guard post outside the residence of Justice (retd) Muzafar Attar, in Islamabad district.
