KARACHI: Reacting to news of the prime minister’s summoning by the Panama case Joint Investigation Team, the Pakistan Stock Exchange showed a downward trend at the start of trading on Monday.

By noon, the benchmark KSE 100-index had fallen by more than 1,700 points, showing a decline of 3.44%.

The benchmark index at present stands at less than 47,850 points.

A downward trend has been witnessed at the stock exchange for the last couple of weeks owing to various factors, including the recently presented federal budget 2017-18.

Reports indicate the index has fallen around 10% since its high a few weeks ago.
