Sargodha: (Parliament Times) The University of Sargodha has finally released the minutes of Syndicate held here at the UOS. A numerous items pending for the last three years has been disposed of the meeting including the incomplete agenda items left by pervious administration.
One of the biggest agenda items was approval of emergency action taken by the former Vice Chancellor in July 2016. Upon the direction of Syndicate of committee under the chairmanship of Malik Gahzanfar Abbas Chheena reviewed each action one by one and showed satisfaction on recruitment process and promotion paid by the selection boards.
However the matter of grant of affiliation remained in the priority discussion of the syndicate and was decided to the monitor and reviewed with better strategies and reforms initiatives. As per the minutes released the number of colleges the university has been reduced to 310 colleges. Similarly acting upon the advised of grievance settlement committee Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Tahir who was facing inquiry has been absorbed off charges of misconduct. However the termination of Dr. Sajid Hussain Sajd (Earth Sciences) has been confirmed.
Search committee for the appointment of the registrar has been constituted which comprises upon Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha nominee of HEC Islamabad, Secretary Higher Education department Punjab and member of selection board of University .The Syndicate decided to black list the owner society Icon Chiniot how did fraud with the students of College .
The Syndicate directed the college administration to return the fee charges from the students. The Syndicate further decided to look into the affairs academic and administration of sub campuses establish under public private partnership mod. It was decided the strong monitoring and over size mechanism will be award. In order to protect the rights of women at work place a harassment hearing panel and tribunal panel of Dr. Nazra Sultna has been constituted.
In one of the decision about M.Phil and PhD program maximum time duration limit has been enhanced to four and eight years respectively. One of the biggest regulations of services of contract employees also came under discussion the syndicate rejected the request as was not covered under service statues. In the meeting of the Syndicate the treasurer of the university presented the audit report of university the syndicate constituted the committee to look into the appointment cases of the cost it was decided that the matter will be dealt with as per instruction of Govt of the Punjab.
