MUZAFFARGARH : Member of National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti and Chairman of Meharpur Union Council (UC), Malik Ajmal were arrested by Punjab police for forcibly opening canal in Muzaffargarh.
Sources told that the security personnel have seized mobile phones, G3 gun and car from them and have shifted them to an unknonw place for interrogation.
Meanwhile, Finance Secretary of Awami Raaj Party, Allah Wasaya has also confirmed the detention.
It is to be mentioned here that Jamshed Dasti breached the authority and forcibly opened a canal on May 28 after which irrigation department lodged a case against the MNA.
Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif also took notice of the incident and directed stern action against Dasti.
