Faisalabad: On the directions of CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani and CPO Afzaal Ahmad Kausar jointly visited fruit & vegetable market Sadhar Jhang road early this morning to observe the auction process and to check the whole sale prices of different vegetables and fruits.

The Deputy Commissioner and other government officials visited different sheds and checked the availability of vegetables/fruits and their quality. They warned the commission agents to refrain from unjustified increase of the prices of vegetables and fruits. They said that the hoardings of any item could not be tolerated and stern legal action would be taken against the hoardings and profiteering.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Market Committee staff to remain vigilant during the auction process and to check any kind of price hike. He said that the wholesale and retail price should immediately be issued after completing the auction process. The Deputy Commissioner directed for proper cleanliness in fruit & vegetable market besides ensuring the functional of sewerage system. The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the commission agents and shopkeepers and informed them that the visits of fruit & vegetable markets would continue throughout the month of Ramzan in order to control the prices and legal action would be taken against the unscrupulous elements.

CPO Afzaal Ahmad Kausar checked the security arrangements and directed the security staff to actively perform duty besides patrolling in the surroundings of the fruit & vegetables markets for the protection of traders and shopkeepers. He warned that dereliction from duty would not be tolerated regarding maintaining security arrangements.
