Mirpur: (Parliament Times) AJK Accountability Court No 02 Mirpur on Friday rejected the post-arrest bail of contractor Sardar Gulfaraz being held responsible for the alleged Tuli Peer Rest House corruption case.

It may be recalled here that the contract for the construction of Rest House at Tuli Peer in Rawlakot was given to Mumtaz Builders. According to AJK Ehtesab Bureau Gulfarz, who happens to be a close relative of Mumtaz Builder’s legal contractor Sardar Younis, has carried out entire construction work on the Rest House without the company’s formal consent or permission. The accused in cahoots with some officials of the Tourist department is said to have received over 7 million rupees illegally from the national exchequer despite using substandard material in the construction work. According to the spokesman of Accountability Bureau further investigation into the alleged corruption case was going on and efforts were being made to nab the rest of other accused persons.
Toli Peer Rest House project had been approved by the tourism department way back in 2006 at the estimated cost of Rs.10 million; however, the project was later allotted to the contactor at 10.08 million rupees.
