Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyet forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid glowing tributes to prominent Muslim Conference leader and one of the pioneers of Kashmir’s struggle for right to self-determination, Abdul Salaam Dalal on his 65th death anniversary.
To commemorate the death anniversary of Abdul Salaam Dalal, Awami Action Action (AAC), organised a function at Khanyar area of Srinagar under the chairmanship of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. The function was attended by all the functionaries of AAC, besides various social and religious activists. Local people of the area also participated in the function.
Highlighting the political and social contribution of Abdul Salaam Dalal, Mirwaiz said that he was a noble soul who always stood for the birthright of Kashmiris—right to self-determination and always played his part throughout his life.
The Hurriyet forum Chairman said that the roadmap shown by leaders and martyrs would continue to guide the people of Kashmir especially youth and it was high time to remain steadfast and to follow basic principles to take the ongoing movement to its logical conclusion.
The APHC chairman said that it was the primary responsibility of the people of Kashmir including youth to protect the mission, the base of which has been laid down by our ancestors and martyrs over the past so many decades.
On the occasion, many leaders that include Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, Muhammad Shafi Khan, Sufi Mushtaq Ahmad, Advocate Sheikh Yasir Rauf Dalal, Advocate Bashir Pandit and Khurshid Arif highlighted the political and social contribution of Abdul Salam Dalal towards Kashmir’s struggle.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing different public gatherings at Anchidoora and Khee in South Kashmir said the people of Jammu and Kashmir desired a peaceful and political resolution to the Kashmir dispute. He said the dispute was threatening the peace of entire South Asia.
