Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan has recovered 163 Kg Drugs valuing 196 Million Internationally during 13 operations carried out across the country against the narcotics smuggling.
The recovered drugs comprised 156 Kg Hashish, 3.25 Kg Heroin and 3.8 Kg Opium. The operations also resulted in apprehension of 14 persons involved in smuggling of narcotics and seizure of 9 vehicles.
According to details, the ANF in an intelligence based operation intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car at Saranan Bazaar, near Levies Check Post, District Pishin and seized 114 Kg Hashish. Hashish was concealed in cavities inside doors and dashboard of the car. An accused identified as Muhammad Ibrahim resident of Qilla Abdullah was also apprehended during the operation.
Meanwhile, the ANF Rawalpindi arrested two local drug suppliers named Ikram Wazir and Basharat Qadir both residents of Attock, recovering 1.6 Kg Hashish from their personal possession. They were arrested while riding on a motorcycle near Bilal Medical Store, Attock City. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered 500 Gram Hashish from possession of a local drug peddler namely Shahbaz Mir resident of Rawalpindi, arresting him near Roshan Bakery, Bani Jangalat Road, Rawalpindi.
Yet in another operation, ANF Rawalpindi recovered 250 Gram Heroin and 3 Kg Hashish from possession of a drug carrier namely Izzat Khan. The accused is Afghan national and is settled at Nowshera. He was arrested near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock.
ANF Lahore while acting on a tip-off intercepted a Suzuki Cultus car near Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad and recovered 18 Kg Hashish during search of the car. Hashish was concealed in secret cavities of the car. A person on board identified as Muhammad Hussain resident of Charsadda was also arrested on the spot.
In another operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Toyota Corolla GLI car near Service Shoes Store, Saddar, Lahore and recovered 3.45 Kg Hashish, concealed inside the car. An accused identified as Muhammad Riaz resident of Mianwali was also apprehended during the operation. Yet in another operation, ANF Lahore stopped a suspected Suzuki Pickup near Samrial Chowk, Sialkot City and recovered 750 Gram Hashish canceled in it. An accused namely Muhammad Asim resident of Faisalabad was also arrested during the operation. In fourth operation, ANF Lahore recovered 3 Kg Hashish from possession of a local drug peddler identified as Muhammad Shafqat resident of Gujranwala. He was apprehended while riding on a motorcycle near Shell Petrol Pump, Wazirabad Road, Sialkot. In fifth operation, Amir Hussain resident Layyah was arrested by ANF Lahore on recovery of 1 Kg Hashish, which was found in his personal possession. He was arrested near Sugar Mills, Layyah City. As per initial information, he was involved in peddling of drugs at local level. In sixth operation, ANF Lahore raided near PSO Petrol Pump, Chowk Azam, Layyah, arresting Naeem Shahzad resident of Layyah along with 200 Gram Opium and 200 Gram Hashish. According to preliminary investigations, the accused was engaged in supply of drugs at local level. Moreover, ANF Lahore on pursuance of information intercepted a Toyota Corolla car near Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad. Search of the car led to seizure of 3 Kg Heroin concealed in secret cavity of the car. The operation also resulted in arrest of two drug traffickers including Tareef Ullah resident of Khyber Agency and Tariq Javed resident of Faisalabad.
ANF Peshawar seized an unattended Suzuki Mehran car which was parked near Barki Petrol Pump, Motorway Chowk, Peshawar. Search of the car resulted in recovery of 3.6 Kg Opium and 8.4 Kg Hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car. As per initial reports, the drugs were intended to be handed over to some other narcotics gang. In addition, ANF Peshawar captured a Toyota Corolla car near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar and recovered 2 Kg Hashish concealed in it. A person on board namely Shamaz resident of Haripur was also arrested during the operation.
Cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are underway.
