KARACHI : Like different associations, All Pakistan Motor Dealers Association (APMDA) has also presented its recommendations ahead of federal budget 2017-18 in which it has been asked from the government to allow the commercial import of five-year-old cars.

The association has taken the stance that local car manufacturers have not increased the production for many years which has disturbed the supply-demand ratio. Customers have to pay millions of rupees in the name of ‘own money’ for fast delivery of new car, otherwise they have to wait for as long as six months despite paying actual amount, the association said.

APMDA has also recommended to reduce the regulatory duty on big cars. It has been suggested to fix the taxes on all cars above 1800cc instead of receiving multiple ones, and to remove registration and transfer fee of imported cars.
